Unified Field Marshals For Peace

Introduction

A note about our field marshal:  He's blue-skinned - not a member of one race,  He supports the Red Cross and uses "Bombs of Love" and "Holy Water Guns" in his struggle for peace.

A music coalition, The United Field Marshals work for world peace and for the relief efforts in the aftermath of the September 11th bombing of The World Trade Center and The Pentagon.

THE STRUGGLE FOR WORLD PEACE

DONATE TO THE RED CROSS | DONATE TO OTHER RELIEF CHARITIES OR HELP IN OTHER WAYS

On September 11, 2001 at about 2:00 PM I talked with Muruga and we both agreed that it was time to immediately intensify the fight of the Unified Field Marshals for global peace.  I said, "We should get it out to the World within 24 hours;" he said, "I agree, I'm on my way."

What we were talking about was a recording of a tune entitled Terroristic Activities.  Muruga started writing the tune in 1980, during the Iran hostage crisis.  In 1986, at Starlight Studios in Richmond, Ca. we recorded the tune.  It was finished and "put on the shelf" for a while.
The tune Terroristic Activities is an anti-terrorism song seeking World peace and a stop to war, violence and terrorism.  In the original art used as the CD cover for the release, Muruga depicts the Unified Field Marshall as having a red cross badge and weapons that include "bombs of Love" and  "Holy Water Guns."
When the Gulf War broke out in August, 1990, Muruga was on national tour with Merl Saunders in support of the Blues From The Rainforest album.  Muruga co-wrote and produced two of the cuts on this release and had joined of Merl's "Rainforest Band" for its tour. The album was peaking at #2 on the national new age charts and the appearances of the band were well attended.
The Gulf war had such a huge influence on Muruga, that he took the money he had made from the tour to manufacture 3000 cassette Eps including the title cut Terroristic Activities.  He gave away all of these cassettes by throwing them out to the audiences of the remaining tour appearances and at benefit peace concerts in California.
Because of these activities, Muruga was awarded the Hiroshima Voices For Peace Award on June 14, 1991.  Muruga UFM made several live appearances in Japan just prior to receiving the award and a limited release was made of the UFM cassette EP in Japan at that time.
Muruga arrived at the studio at 5:00 PM on September 11, 2001.  We, with engineer Frank Giammanco, began re-mastering of the cut for immediate release.  By 7:00 PM the following day we had the master, the MP3, promo copies and supporting graphics for release of the lead cut to radio stations.  We also placed the MP3 on the Web for immediate release to the world as a free download.  .
Muruga with his new band, Global Village Ceremonial Band began recording (9/14/01) other cuts of a new original tune called "Love and Peace Abide" and "God Bless America" which will be released shortly.  We're shooting for sales copies to be in Greater Detroit area stores within 10 days and offering it through popular Web retail sites much sooner than that.  100% of the proceeds received from sales of this release will be given to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund (or other similar relief funds).
