Save the extra money for better instruments, mics, and cables. • Buy equipment made by reputable manufacturers. Quality is key. • Spread your money evenly across your whole studio. If you're forced to skimp, don't buy. Wait untill you have the money you need. • Read the fine print (spec sheets) available on the web • Buy online and take advantage of "Price Match Guarantees" • Be aware of how versatile a piece of equipment is and identify if it will grow with you and your studio. • Starting from the top of the line, computer components drop in price exponentially, so be smart.
