This year the convention was held in my favorite big city, San Fransico. It gave me one more reason to take a business trip to California.

The convention was held starting on the weekend and extending to mid-day on Wednesday. This is the optimum schedule for getting the most out of the convention. On the first two days of the convention it will be very crowded. On Monday and Tuesday there will be only 35% of the visitors - this allows the attendee to get into in-depth talks with the manufacturers. On Wednesday everybody’s packing up with some manufacturers leaving very early.

My schedule only allowed two half days at the convention, and as it worked out these days were short. As a result, I only really had a half day of time on the convention floor.

What I saw was rather boring to me. I didn’t see any new and breakthrough products that I could write about - as this was my objective. What I saw was a lot of manufacturers introducing their products that did the same thing the competition has been doing for a while.

As a result, I decided to write more about how AES conventions work and "how to attend" one for maximum results. On the left and below you will find links to pages about this subject. Good surfing!
