in the beginning... issue

It was the beginning of April, 1998, Saginaw Michigan.  Recording Engineer's Quarterly was coming out with its first issue at the dedicated web address of www.recordingeq.com. For a year, I had been posting "REQ" issues though my AOL member space, but now we were going professional with our own domain.  Looking over some of the articles we posted back then made us decide to continue our "In the beginning..." theme, started last month at the Alexander Magazine.  A couple of choice articles from those first REQ issues are posted for you.  The lead article, "The Lost Step In The Recording Process - Multitrack Mastering" can definitely give you ideas on how to improve your recorded product.

Regarding our Michigan Music column, our MM editor, PT Quinn, is recovering from surgery.  Dick Wagner (from Wagner Music Group, Saginaw, Michigan) and I decided to put our heads together on the "current" scene of music in Michigan and the nation in this post-911 era.  If you get a chance, browse their site and see a well put together Mid-Michigan music scene.  REQ was born in my Saginaw Michigan office - right down the hall from Dick's.

Our technical articles from Alexander Magazine are on the subject of compression.  You have a limited time (Until December 10th) to access articles on this important subject.  If you are a novice or a professional, I know you will learn something about compression this issue.

The Recording Institute of Detroit announces its online training for the Music Producer Specialist will start January 1st online with the developing artist productions staff.  Now online is our second developing artists productions article entitled 30 MILLION SELLER™ MENTORING AND TRAINING detailing this new service.  Don't miss this  posting and our special e-mail that went out to our thousands of registered readers.
