Starting Your Mix Series - Tip 2:The Underrated Mix Step
The next mixing step is to set faders and pans for your mix.  Although this can be a quick step, it is a critical step and more involved than you may believe.
Starting Your Mix Series - Tip 3 - A Mix Overview
Wh
ere are we going with this mix?  How do we get there? These and other questions about the mixing process are explained by Bob.  Bob now turns the focus on "hearing the mix  in your mind" Building a mix is like...
Starting Your Mix Series - #4 - Using Reverberation
As mixing engineers, we are trying to achieve a balance between size and clarity with the reverb.  Without Reverb our instruments would sound irritating.  Bob explains how to get the right reverberation perspective in the mix.
Starting Your Mix Series - Tip 5 - Using Equalization
We start using the equalizers to "repair" the sounds of the instruments.  After getting repair equalization settings, we come back to the reverb to get a final reverb and echo sound on our mix. We finally go back an get "enhancing" equalization settings.
Signal Processing In Mixdown Tip 6 - Pre-Delay & Reverb
The pre-delay simulates the time the sound wave would take to bounce off of a couple of surfaces to begin creating the multiple echoes that make up reverb. How to set it for maximum mix clarity is discussed.
