We have an exciting issue or you to start summer right.  For the home project studios, we think you can possibly get the big studio results and we tell you how in our lead article, GETTING A PROESSIONAL SOUND AT HOMEWe also begin a series on  MIDI, with an article called UNDERSTANDING MIDI - Part 1 by Ken Lanyon, our Home Recording Editor.  We reprinted EQUIPPING YOUR STUDIO PROFESSIONALLY BUT INEXPENSIVELY  to make sure all of you are using our monthly tip on used equipment buys throuh Pro Audio Marketplace.   Continuing in the recording theme we post yet another "technique" for that important guitar sound in the article RECORDING AND MIXING STEREO GUITARS.
Another theme of the issue is the reporting about "musical scenes" in Michigan that are expected to have national attention in the near future.  Motown veterans are teaming up for another national push as we report in the article, BRIANBERT - THE NEXT "MOTOWN".  In Ann Arbor Michigan ledgends of music get together to record "for the fun of it" as reported in ANN ARBOR - STILL A HOTSPOT IN MUSICAnother bit of news comes from RID, providing free training to Detroit Public High School media and music students, see FIRST ONLINE RECORDING SCHOOL SUPPORTS ITS ROOTS.
