spring production issue

The technical articles for the issue, from Alexander Magazine, are on rock recording.  In addition we have a review article on Jon Bare and his new CD/Book release entitled Electric Guitar Recording - It's All About Tone.

The feature article is on an awesome web service through www.tonos.com.  Bob explores the site toughly and gives his report.   Bob and Tom Gelardi then give examples of how a service like Tonos fits into the recording musician getting a hit record.

From our sister site:  developing artists productions was formed to help the recording musicians record,  produce, write, publish, promote and market their own music releases.  We'd like to see the developing artists become as successful as their talent and perseverance will take them.  To show you what we mean we'll be following the progress of a developing artist basement production.

Our Regular Features at REQ are alive and kicking.  In this issue the Motown Recording Heritage feature is "Divided We Fall," which illustrates the kind of problems you can get into dealing with the major labels.  The Connection article is about being able to take criticism in your career.  The Michigan Music article is an interview with a prominent basement recording musician.   In The Tech Cave by Frank G has the part 2 article in  THE FRANK G GUIDE* TO CREATING, RECORDING AND PRODUCING A HIT RECORD USING ONLY A PC WORKSTATION series. Internet Baby Steps has four new lessons.

We had planed an interview with Home Recording Editor, Ken Lanyon, but the editing didn't make the deadline.  In our next issue we will publish the interview as well as a new Home Recording article by Ken.
