MURUGA BOOKER
|
|
| Muruga Booker is an
established musician, song writer, producer and recording artist.
He has had 48 releases, since 1960, listed in his
discography. Releases
where he performed, co-wrote and produced cuts,
have sold in excess of 700,000
copies. His website is
www.murugabooker.com. |
|
MUSART |
| Musart Records is
Muruga's own label. During 1990 and 1991 Musart released a popular
cassette series of new age "Trance-Healing Drumming" releases. The most
popular release, "Journey Of The Drums" sold in excess of 20,000 units,
a bona-fide hit in the New Age Market. |
| Musart's next release is
going to also be a trance-healing release entitled "Kundalini
Rhapsody" This project was borne out of a new associate of
Muruga's, Dr. Dennis Chernin MD, MPA. Mustart describes the
project as: |
A yogi musician and a
yogi physician combine their creativity to take us on a healing
journey through the energy centers of the body, mind, and spirit.
WHERE ENTERTAINMENT and INNER ATTAINMENT MEET
"As we balance the inner energy circle (chakras) we heal and
transform the physical, emotional, and spiritual qualaties
associated with each center."
- DENNIS CHERNIN
"Music and sound help us to activate these energy centers, as well
as to open the dorr to the soul, bringing about inner peace and
joy."
- MURUGA BOOKER |
|
| Right on the heals of
this release will be two other releases, "Let my People Play" by the
Global Village Ceremonial Band (including the single release of "Find
The Peace and Love Inside") and another release by the "_______
Floaters" that includes Madcat Ruth (harmonica), Richard Smith (bass)
and Perry Robinson (clarinet) in a jazz-folk-blues style production.
|
| The large release
schedule prompted Musart to bring in Perry Robinson, famed jazz
clarinetist, for a series of February, 2002 recording sessions.
Perry appears with his clarinet on all of these upcoming releases. |
 |
PERRY ROBINSON |
|
| Perry is a very well
known jazz clarinetist, first nationally exposed In
the early to mid 70's with
the "Darius Brubeck Group,"
the "Two Generations of Brubeck" ensemble with
Dave, Chris and Dan Brubeck as well as a jazz trio
with Darius Brubeck and Muruga Booker.
Currently his "Perry Robinson Quartet" is very
popular in Europe. You can access Perry's Biography
here. |
| Perry and Muruga have
been recording together for over 30 years. Every time they get
together, it creates magic in the studio monitors. We are pleased
to present some PT Quinn photos taken during recording and live
appearances in February 2000. |
